When My Baby Is Buggy was born...

Years ago, when I was perhaps eleven or twelve, my daddy drew me a little cartoon of a ladybug pushing a baby carriage, and the caption read: "My Baby is Buggy." I loved that sweet little scrap of paper and saved it for years, but alas, somewhere along the way that tiny piece of history disappeared. I imagine that my dad's 'Mrs. Ladybug' may have been the catalyst for one of my most fulfilling occupations: Illustrator and maker of tiny things.

TOP SECRET!!

Okay, so my 'idea' for 3 year-old Teigan's birthday present was a soft flower pillow with a big, fat Lady Bug on it. I know that three-year-olds now-a-days would rather have some hot new electronics, and I mean, who doesn't want the new iPad?? But what I'm aiming for here is the 'ahhh factor': you know, you've just woken up from your afternoon nap, things are still a little bit hazy, and you turn to your side, let out a big sigh and gaze at the big lady bug sitting there on your spongy, lavender flower pillow...

    That is very cute. How long did it take to make it? What are the dementions?

    The dimensions are approximately 24" from leaf to other side of flower x 17". It took a couple hours. I'm thinking of putting it on Etsy to see if anyone (besides my dear sis) is interested :)

    Did you make a pattern? I love the whole idea.
    Just change the bug and you have a whole new season.
    About the jars, what type of paint did you use?
    Dishwasher safe or just water safe?
